Thomas Sowell sees the snake.
"Just one year ago, would you have believed that an unelected government official, not even a Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate but simply one of the many "czars" appointed by the President, could arbitrarily cut the pay of executives in private businesses by 50 percent or 90 percent?
Did you think that another "czar" would be talking about restricting talk radio? That there would be plans afloat to subsidize newspapers — that is, to create a situation where some newspapers' survival would depend on the government liking what they publish?
Did you imagine that anyone would even be talking about having a panel of so-called "experts" deciding who could and could not get life-saving medical treatments?
Scary as that is from a medical standpoint, it is also chilling from the standpoint of freedom. If you have a mother who needs a heart operation or a child with some dire medical condition, how free would you feel to speak out against an administration that has the power to make life and death decisions about your loved ones?
...
...
Among the people appointed as czars by President Obama have been people who have praised enemy dictators like Mao, who have seen the public schools as places to promote sexual practices contrary to the values of most Americans, to a captive audience of children.
...
Those who say that the Obama administration should have investigated those people more thoroughly before appointing them are missing the point completely. Why should we assume that Barack Obama didn't know what such people were like, when he has been associating with precisely these kinds of people for decades before he reached the White House?"
It's past time to think about how to stop BarryO and Bill Ayers and Friends from taking over the administration. NOW we have to work on keeping them from taking over the rest of America.
Do you know the snake for what it is, not for what it says?

Unfortunately, those of us that are writing about it knew the snake for what it was before it got elected based on his past associations and "jobs".
Snakes don't magically transmogrify into eagles, no matter what the teleprompter speech says.
Ain't that the truth, Swampie. So...why are you not at work? Did you come to your senses and walk off the job? Teacher Planning Day? Coming down with a bug? C'mon...well, I'll go see if you answered at Paco's cuz I asked the same question when I saw your comment there.

Don't get TOO big for your britches, JP - my time stamp says I got it posted before you did...unless you're in a different time zone, which means we posted a link to the same column at the same time...and that's just weird!
By the way, having major gratitude attack today, so Swampie and Rodrigo - thank you for being my Friends. You add interest and fun and intelligence to my life and I am so thankful for your continuing presence here at at your own blogs.
It's happening here, too.
There's talk of restricting Hansard, which is where all conversation which happens in parliament is published, the Federal government and the state governments have Hansard. Every word is transcribed and anyone can access it, and now with the www, we can access it on the net.
But Kevin Rudd's governmnet is talking about restricting access to Hansard.
God help us if that happens.
Here's a link to Tim Blair's Tele (yeah, it's not "his", but you know what I mean!).

And we in Queensland now have our illustrious premier ***cough*** advertising to us how good it is that she wants to sell off our assets. They already got rid of the billing section of the Power authorities in Qld and power has gone up about 50%.
Who can afford an ETS?
